Injection Molding Machine Interface (IMMI)

The e-Series Injection Molding Machine Interface (IMMI) option provides standardized connectivity between an e-Series robot and injection molding machinery. The IMMI is a separately orderable option for all e-Series robots and supports both EUROMAP 67 and SPI AN-146.

SOLIDWORKS is a commercial CAD software package for designing industrial components. The 3D models developed in SolidWorks serve as a basis for G-code toolpath generation. Universal Robots’ Polyscope software contains the Remote TCP Toolpath URCap, which automatically generates robot motion based on imported G-code files. The purpose of this Toolpath Generator is to provide an easy-to-use approach for defining 2.5-axis toolpaths in SolidWorks. It also ensures the output from SolidWorks uses the correct syntax that is compatible with the Remote TCP Toolpath URCap. This product is provided to e-Series users free of charge. The Remote TCP Toolpath URCap makes it easier to program Universal Robots for process applications, such as dispensing, deburring, polishing, etc. First, this URCap allows you to set Remote Tool Center Points (RTCP), where the tool center point is fixed in space, relative to the base of the robot. Second, it is also able to automatically generate robot motion based on an imported G-code toolpath file. When the robot is required to follow a complex trajectory for a dispensing or deburring application, it is much easier to program the toolpath based on a part model in the CAD/CAM software that the user is already familiar with. The user no longer needs to spend a long time programming waypoints and circle moves from the teach pendant. Universal Robots offers drag-chain suitable High flex cable options of robot cable, connecting the arm and control box. This enables integration with 7th axis systems, allowing the robot to extend the workspace for tending multiple machines, welding larger workspaces or palletizing higher pallets. The High flex cable options are available in 6- or 12-meter versions.

A 6-meter cable is included with any e-Series robot systems. With the e-Series Cable Suite a robot cable of 6 or 12 meters can be ordered.

Teach Pendant with 3-Position Enabling Device, compatible with all e-Series robots. The Teach Pendant is ergonomically designed for easy operation with either hand. Fully integrated design features simple plug-and-play installation with no additional wiring needed. Natively supported in Polyscope 5.10 and higher, with no URCap needed.

SAFETY ALERT: If you are using PROFIsafe, with the 3PE Teach Pendant, update to software version 5.18.1 or higher. Currently all e-Series robots ship with software 5.19 or higher.

Standard Robot Command Interface (SRCI) is an open-standard for the command and data interface between a client Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and a server (UR controller). SRCI adds an additional layer to PROFInet that allows the user to program the robot from the PLC. UR SRCI interpreter ensures a frictionless integration with Siemens PLCs, since Siemens is the first PLC Vendor supporting SRCI in the automation market. Broad SRCI version URCap has been released that supports all 29 Profile: Core functions and requires a paid license.
